Journal History

Dirham: Journal of Sharia Finance and Economics (JoSFE) was first published in 2025 as an international scholarly initiative aimed at advancing research and knowledge in the fields of Sharia finance and Islamic economics. The establishment of the journal reflects a growing academic and practical interest in Sharia-based financial systems, ethical economics, and sustainable development grounded in Islamic principles.

Published online by Goodwood Publishing, JoSFE adopts a biannual publication schedule, releasing two issues each year in January and July. The journal publishes all articles in English to ensure broad international visibility and to facilitate global scholarly communication among researchers, academicians, and practitioners from diverse backgrounds.

To maintain high academic standards and publication integrity, every manuscript submitted to JoSFE undergoes a rigorous double-blind peer-review process, involving at least two independent reviewers. Editorial decisions are based on clearly defined scholarly criteria, including academic quality, originality, methodological rigor, and practical relevance. Through this review process, JoSFE is committed to ensuring the publication of high-quality research that contributes meaningfully to the development and application of Sharia finance and economics at local, national, and global levels.
