Journal History
The Journal of Governance and Accountability Studies (JGAS) was first published in 2021 as an online, peer-reviewed, and open-access scholarly journal focusing on governance and accountability studies. Since its establishment, JGAS has published two issues per year under a biannual schedule, with regular releases in January and July.
All manuscripts submitted to JGAS are evaluated through a double-blind peer-review process, involving a minimum of two independent reviewers selected based on subject-matter expertise. Editorial decisions are based on academic quality, originality, methodological rigor, and ethical compliance, ensuring consistency and scholarly integrity.
JGAS publishes original research articles and review articles that address social, political, and governmental issues, with an emphasis on governance mechanisms, accountability frameworks, public policy, and institutional performance. The journal is published exclusively in English to support international readership and is distributed through an online open-access platform, ensuring broad accessibility and visibility.
As an academic journal published by Goodwood Publishing, JGAS continues to strengthen its editorial standards and publication practices in alignment with internationally recognized scholarly publishing principles. Since its first publication, the journal has maintained a consistent publication frequency (2 issues annually) and a stable editorial review system, supporting its long-term sustainability and academic credibility.
