Declaration of GenAI

Policy on the Use of Generative Artificial Intelligence (GenAI)

Goodwood Publishing recognizes the responsible and transparent use of generative artificial intelligence (GenAI) and AI-assisted technologies in scholarly publishing. To uphold academic integrity, research quality, and ethical standards, the following policy applies to all journals published by Goodwood Publishing.

Use of Generative AI by Authors

Generative AI and AI-assisted technologies may be used only to support the writing process, such as improving language clarity, grammar, or readability of the manuscript. These technologies must not be used to generate original scientific content, analyze data, interpret results, or draw research conclusions.

Authors are required to apply GenAI tools under human supervision and must carefully review and edit all AI-assisted outputs. Authors remain fully responsible and accountable for the accuracy, originality, and integrity of the content of their submitted and published work.

Authorship

Generative AI tools and AI-assisted technologies must not be listed as authors or co-authors. Authorship entails intellectual contribution, responsibility, and accountability, which can only be attributed to human contributors.

Use of Generative AI by Editors and Reviewers

To protect the confidentiality of submitted manuscripts and the intellectual property of authors, editors and reviewers are not permitted to use generative AI or AI-assisted technologies (including but not limited to ChatGPT or similar services) during the peer-review and manuscript evaluation process.

Ethical Compliance

Goodwood Publishing adheres to internationally recognized standards of publication ethics and transparency, including principles promoted by the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE). Any misuse or non-disclosure of generative AI may be treated as a breach of publication ethics and handled according to the journal’s ethical procedures.

Policy Updates

This policy may be revised periodically to reflect developments in AI technologies and evolving best practices in scholarly publishing.
