Abstract

Purpose: This study examines the relationship between organizational culture and employees' actual use of Artificial Intelligence (AI) applications in the workplace.

Methodology: A quantitative survey was conducted with 126 employees in Indonesia, selected through random sampling. Organizational culture was measured using innovation orientation, collaboration, adaptability, and openness to technology, whereas AI usage was assessed based on frequency, intensity, and practical application at work. Data were collected using a Likert-scale questionnaire and analyzed using validity and reliability tests, Pearson correlation, and simple linear regression.

Results: The findings revealed a positive and significant relationship between organizational culture and AI usage (r = 0.626, p < 0.001). Regression analysis indicated that organizational culture accounted for 39.2% of the variance in AI usage (R² = 0.392).

Conclusions: Organizational cultures characterized by innovation, collaboration, and openness to technological change promote higher AI adoption among employees. Effective AI implementation depends not only on technological readiness but also on supportive organizational environments.

Limitations: The study is limited by its relatively small sample size and the use of a single independent variable, which may not fully explain the factors influencing AI usage.

Contributions: This study contributes to the organizational behavior and information systems literature by providing empirical evidence of employee-level AI usage in Indonesia and offering practical insights for fostering a digital-ready culture that supports AI adoption and digital transformation.
