Personal savings and household investments: a cohort study among primary school teachers

Purpose: This study aimed to determine the relationship between personal savings and household investments among a cohort of primary school teachers in lira city. Research methodology: The study used a cross-sectional survey design with a quantitative research approach. Data were collected from a sample of 103 respondents with the period between October 2020 and January 2021 using self-administered questionnaires. The Content Validity Index was used to establish validity, while the Cronbach's Alpha Coefficient was used to test reliability. Results: Using descriptive and inferential statistics, the results suggest that civil servants' personal financial planning is high due to personal savings. Also, the level of household investment is high and the correlation reveals that the relationship between private savings and household investment is very weak and negative. Limitations: This study focused on personal savings only, yet other constructs affect household investments. Contribution: This study's results help civil servants in Lira city and Uganda in general since personal savings are an essential factor to household investments. Providing a framework for knowledge sharing in knowledge-based organizations according to social capital indicators

Purpose: This study aimed to provide a framework for examining knowledge sharing from the perspective of social capital in knowledge-based organizations. For this purpose, the social capital and knowledge sharing literature has been reviewed and appropriate dimensions and components have been selected for use in the proposed framework. Research methodology: The number of experts participating in this study was 12. Kendall’s W Ranks is a statistical index for assessing the degree of agreement in a group. This statistical index, which is related to non-parametric statistics, is used to assess the degree to which a number of evaluators agree on the ranking of several factors. Result: This research's proposed framework shows that the main bottleneck in the knowledge sharing process is the sender. Numerous factors affect the motivation, quantity and quality of knowledge shared by him. The proposed conceptual model shows the factors in the field of social capital well. This means that the organization's managers should pay special attention to people with knowledge to activate the process of knowledge sharing in the organization as a driving force. Limitations: This research only described knowledge-based organizations. Contribution: The proposed conceptual framework makes a good distinction between formal and informal knowledge-sharing channels in a knowledge-based organization. Formal channels are controlled and manageable channels. Although the main burden of knowledge sharing in organizations lies with informal channels, the more managers can shift the organization's knowledge to formal channels, the more they can manage the process. This is a part of the job that social capital, in particular, helps to achieve. The proposed framework discusses the acceptance of the use of formal frameworks. Investigating, identifying and evaluating organizational and infrastructural strategic factors affecting organizational management processes from the perspective of productivity management

Purpose: The purpose of this present study is to investigate the impact of institutional and infrastructural factors on knowledge management processes from the perspective of Nonaka and Takeuchi with a case study of design offices of a product organization. Research methodology: The research is applied and is a descriptive survey in terms of data collection. The statistical population of the design offices of a product organization consisted of 75 people and the statistical sample was estimated 63 people. The research tool was a researcher-made questionnaire with a reliability of 77%. Results: The findings show that seven institutional and infrastructure factors affecting knowledge management processes were identified. Also prioritization by TOPSIS showed that organizational structure, culture and values, above average, can be deployed in the design office, and knowledge management policies and guidance are average, but information technology is below average. Limitation: The results extend the understanding of the role of quality of work-life in organizational effectiveness. The research findings have implications for human resource managers. Contribution: The results of the study help the human resource managers of organizations to identify the elements that affect the quality of work-life and help them in planning to increase organizational effectiveness by increasing employee satisfaction and motivation. Application of hierarchical method and fuzzy AHP-TOPSIS method for multi-criteria decision making in financing

Purpose: One way to make more profit in different companies is to choose the right method of financing. While the impact of financial structure on the economic structure is so important that today they believe that economic growth cannot be achieved without an efficient financial sector. The method of financing is financial. At first, in this study, the fuzzy Delphi method (Delphi) has been used in order to identify the factors and criteria of supply. Research methodology: The absorption of foreign capital has been identified as a method of financing. For this purpose, in this research, AHP hierarchical analysis method is used. Results: In this article, the application of fuzzy AHP - TOPSIS method for the problem of financing is investigated. The process of managing financial resources is one of the reasons for allocating its technical equipment to various applications in this company. Limitations: However, the results of our studies show that although a set of known values in this company, the financing process may not adhere strongly to these values. Emphasis on evaluation aspects - changes in various areas that indicate local values may also affect the supply trend. Contribution: Multi-criteria decision methods are useful in that they provide a basis for analyzing and transforming complex and complex problems into simpler ones; In that framework, the planner can easily evaluate the options with the help of criteria and sub-criteria. Using these methods can help a lot in choosing the best available solution. Other advantages of these methods include flexibility, simplicity of calculations and the possibility of the final ranking of options.

Investigating the reasons for failures and delays in R&D projects with the project management approach

Purpose: This study aimed to identify and investigate the reasons for failures and delays in R&D projects with an organizational productivity approach. Research methodology: In order to identify the most influential factors in the research area, a questionnaire with a Likert spectrum of five options was designed and distributed among the stakeholders of research projects. The questionnaire results were analyzed and 10 more effective factors were identified and solutions were used to improve the situation. Result: In the present study, after reviewing the background of the subject and reviewing previous studies, 149 factors affecting the failure and delay of projects were identified and after aggregating and summarizing the factors, a model was designed to classify the causes of delay in which 55 effective factors in two general categories. Intra-organizational and extra-organizational factors were examined. Limitations: This research only described Research-oriented organizations. Contribution: According to the analysis results regarding the more effective causes, problems and challenges related to each of the factors were studied and to reduce the impact of existing factors, various solutions and suggestions in the field of research variables using Expert opinion was provided.
